If you've been following my adventures in the music biz, you probably know how frustrating it is to get a song through to a decision maker. There are two market areas we want to break into: 1. Guitar Driven Power Pop with a Gulf Coast Twist, 2. The songwriter market (a.k.a. advertising). Because computers and recording software is widely available, the songwriter market is dominated by people who don't just want a song. They want a song that's radio ready.
Finally, The Last 2 No was selected by Stu Cheese of One Night Stand Music for advertising, It took a very long time (about 10 years, on a part-time basis) to get my music and production up to snuff. And that says a lot about perseverance from a guy with free GarageBand software, a few American made guitars, and help from Phil Thomas Katt. If not for Phil, Stu Cheese wouldn't have emailed me. And if not for my wife's idea to put in a speaking part in the bridge, the song wouldn't be as cool.
So, it's very good news that folks in the UK, have heard some of my music. On the other hand, Phil has put the "Outta The Blu" video together after many months working on it.
I couldn't be more thrilled with the job he did on it. Phil has a unique video feel, and I think he did a great job of getting some emotion out of me. Folks who've met me, know I'm actually quite shy. I consider myself a bit of an introvert. So, Phil got some pretty good clips. And he interlaced it with some gorgeous clips of the Gulf Coast.
As you listen and watch the video, please know that it was a team of people who put these things together. I simply supplied the song and did some mixing. Phil gave me all the guidance on the production, shot the footage, and put the entire video together.
And it's your dollars that make all of this go forward. We couldn't do it without your continued support. Thanks for believing in us.
To other musicians, believe me when I say working with Phil was so worth it.
